Staff Spotlight: Adele Kincses

Congratulations to Adele

We’d like to acknowledge the achievements of our valued employee, Adele Kincses.

We are thrilled to recognise Adele’s accomplishments as a dedicated triathlete.

Adele was recently awarded the Victorian Triathlon State Series Champion (Female 20-24). What an incredible achievement!

Adele is a lifeguard and has been working at PARC for over a year. Training with the Mornington Peninsula Triathlon Club up to 6 times a week, she balances her training with lifeguarding, study and also working in diabetes research!

A triathlon is a multi-sport event with 3 legs – a swim, ride and run. The distances vary from Sprint (750m swim, 20km ride and 5km run) to full Iron Man (3.8km swim, 180km ride and 42km run)

Adele trains for 13-15 hours every week and her dedication is evident in her achievements at State level.

How long have you been working at PARC and how long have you been swimming?
I started working at PARC in April 2022. Started swimming lessons at 6 months old and never stopped!

How often do you train with MPTC?
Usually 5-6 sessions per week with the group, plus a handful more by myself as directed by my coach Stephen Foster.

What does a standard week look like for you?
Training is usually 3 swim sessions, 3-4 rides, 4 runs and 2 gym sessions totalling 13-15 hours per week. Aside from PARC I also work in diabetes research and am studying my Master’s of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

How did you get started in the sport and how long have you been competing?
I was looking for a personal challenge and I had a friend who was racing so just decided to give one a go and never looked back! I started properly training with my coach and MPTC in 2021.

What’s your favourite leg?
The swim.

What do you like to do in your downtime?
Baking (usually something chocolatey) or reading a good book.

How did you feel when you found out you had won?
Surprised, I never thought I’d even be in contention for an award like this when I started in the sport!

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to get into triathlon?
Just go for it, join your local club (MPTC of course) and enter a race – this sport seriously has the most supportive and encouraging community at all levels, and is so much fun to be a part of.

Did you know that our vision is that 'Every Child In Frankston Can Swim'?🌳👶🏻

The Rotary Peninsula 2.0's Birth Tree is one way that's helping us to achieve this vision. ⚙️

By joining the Birth Tree, you get your child's name on this year's plaque. Plus through the Birth Tree, $45 of every contribution goes straight back to PARC and PINES to help more children build confidence in the water. Your contribution will go directly to funding baby swim programs. It's a great gift to welcome a child into our ever-growing community in Frankston.🏊

You can purchase a place for a baby born this year on the birth tree by heading to our website in the link below. Or for older children, you can add them to the Family Garden. Find out more in the link in our bio.
