PARC Swim Update: Fly age group now called Snap

The PARC Swim team have listened to member feedback and have made improvements to the program for the benefit of FLY age group students.

Based on member feedback, we are removing the need to change levels simply because of a birthday. From now on, all Fly classes will be called Snap. This will increase the availability of classes as well as make things simpler and more flexible for you.

Why are we making the change to the program?

We want to make PARC Swim simpler and more flexible for families. By combining the Fly and Snap levels, we can:

  • Offer more class times and make-up options
  • Base progression on swimming ability, not age
  • Ensure students swim with others of a similar ability, supporting faster progression

What does this mean for Fly age group members?

  • Your class day, time and location will not change.
  • The name of the class is now Snap, and the Fly age group no longer exists.
  • There is no change to the program content, just a simpler, ability-based progression.

When does this take effect?

  • For those in the learn to swim pool – this will take effect from Monday 21st July
  • For those in the 50m pool – this will take effect from Monday 28th July

What does this mean for Snap level members?

  • There will now be more class options for level Snap 1-5
  • Current Snap level members will have no changes or impacts to their current times.

If you have any questions about your child’s move from Fly to Snap, please contact the PARC Swim team via email at parc.swim@peninsulaleisure.com.au

Have you heard of Habit Stacking? 🤔

It's a great way to add movement into your day by pairing small exercises with habits you already do - helping you be active and achieve 30-20-2, even when life is busy!

You can incorporate simple exercises into your daily task, such as:
- Squats while the kettle boils - turn waiting time into movement time.
- Calf raises while brushing your teeth - two minutes of strength, twice a day.
- Lunges down the hallway - every trip becomes a mini workout.
- Marching on the spot while folding laundry- complete some of your vigorous or moderate exercise every trip.
- Glute squeezes while sitting at your desk - perfect for busy workdays.

Remember, all movement counts 🙌

For more information about 30-20-2, or helpful resources and workouts to get you moving, head to our Digital Hub.
