Peninsula Leisure to manage Centenary Park Golf Course

We would like to share some important and exciting news with you.

At its meeting on 8 September 2025, Frankston City Council resolved that when the current licence expires on 8 July 2026, management of the Centenary Park Golf Course will transition to Peninsula Leisure.

Centenary Park Golf Course is Frankston City’s leading public golf course. Originally established in 1938, the course was relocated to its current site in 1974 and named Centenary Park in 1986. The 18-hole, par 72 course is popular with locals and visitors, also offering a café, retail store and programs for golfers of all abilities.

Facility Management

Who are Peninsula Leisure?

Peninsula Leisure is a subsidiary company wholly owned by Frankston City Council, charged with the management of Council’s aquatic and recreation facilities, including Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre, Pines Forest Aquatic Centre and Frankston Skate Park.

Why is Peninsula Leisure taking on a golf course?

  • Managing Centenary Park Golf Course is a natural extension of Peninsula Leisure’s commitment to activate, engage, and support the Frankston community. As a trusted facility management partner for Frankston City Council, Peninsula Leisure brings extensive expertise in delivering high-quality, community-focused sport and recreation experiences across PARC, Pines, and Frankston Skate Park, and we are excited to apply that same approach to the golf course.
  • This appointment reflects Council’s confidence in our proven ability to manage outstanding leisure facilities. Uniquely, as with PARC, any net surplus generated will be reinvested directly into the Frankston community, creating even greater opportunities for health, wellbeing, and social connection.

When will this happen?

  • Peninsula Leisure will commence management of Centenary Park Golf Course from July 2026.

Employee arrangements

Will Peninsula Leisure be recruiting Golf Course staff? What happens to the existing golf course staff?

  • Engagement with existing golf course staff is a priority for Peninsula Leisure. In the early stages of our work to transition the golf course to Peninsula Leisure Management, we are committed to ensuring existing staff working at the course have opportunities to remain at their current workplace as Peninsula Leisure’s employees, should they wish to do so.
  • All the usual PARC, Pines and Skate teams will be operating as normal.

Access & Memberships

Will my membership include access to Centenary Park Golf Course?

  • There are no immediate plans for reciprocal benefits across Peninsula Leisure facilities.
  • In the fullness of time we are open to exploring potential cross-over opportunities, where appropriate.

Programs & Services

What about our other facilities – PARC, Pines and Skate?

  • Delivering exceptional experiences at PARC, Pines, and the Skate Park remain a core priority, as always.
  • Managing Centenary Park Golf Course adds to our portfolio, but does not take focus away from our existing sites. Each site will continue to operate as usual.
  • Across all our facilities we will continue to live our purpose of creating YOUR place to be active, happy and connected – promoting active lifestyles for all ages, creating more opportunities for people to engage socially, and deliver wellbeing benefits across the municipality.

Will green fees or membership prices change?

  • Fees and charges are reviewed annually and recommended to Council for approval. This process will continue and is in alignment with the current course operator.

What new programs will be offered at the golf course?

  • At this stage, our priority is to meet and listen to the passionate golfing community, understanding what you enjoy about the course and what you would like to see in the future.
  • There are no immediate plans to change programming.

What does this mean for the Club and users?

  • Peninsula Leisure’s management of Centenary Park Golf Course will focus on maintaining the high-quality experience you know and love, while exploring opportunities to enhance participation and grow the game across the community.

Bright bathers = safer swimmers 🌈🩳

Our PARC Swim team demonstrate that when it comes to swimwear for little ones, the right colour can matter!

🟡 Bright colours like neon orange, pink, yellow or lime green can be easier to spot.
🔵 While some dark or pale colours and may disappear in busy pools or in open water.
