Member Spotlight: Mark Bowler

This month we’d like to celebrate the success of one of our super friendly members who graces the PARC Health Club with his positive energy every time he trains, Mark Bowler!

Mark has been nominated for the Member Spotlight this month for great attitude and polite friendly nature, helping to make the PARC Health Club a positive space. Mark is always open to helping out fellow gym members and is an extremely valuable member of the PARC community!  We sat down with him and asked a few questions about why PARC is important to him.

What type of training do you do at PARC?

Body building sessions in the gym!

What is your year of health goal?

I’m working towards competing in natural body building October next year however I’m always working on being my general health and fitness as well.

What motivates you?

I want to a role model for my kids! My daughter just joined, and we train together every week. That time is extremely valuable to me. On top of that, PARC is an extremely positive environment, so I want to be here! The social aspect of coming to PARC is so important to me. I have made lot of friends since I have been here and have been able to inadvertently help others through conversation and friendship.

Do you have a training buddy?

I met up with my daughter a few times a week to train together! Other than that, I come alone but always have members to chat to while I am training. That’s part of what motivates me, PARC is such a friendly environment!

Why do you love PARC?

I love the friendly and welcoming environment in the gym! PARC has everything you could need for your health and fitness….including great coffee! I’ve trained at a lot of gyms over the years, and this is by far the best one!

What is your biggest achievement at PARC?

When returned to the gym after taking a break due to the temporary closures, I had put on weight, and I decided to make a change. I got back in and lost 30kg in 8 months!

How long have you been a member with us

I am a foundation member…I signed up in a tent before PARC was even built!

Did you know that our vision is that 'Every Child In Frankston Can Swim'?🌳👶🏻

The Rotary Peninsula 2.0's Birth Tree is one way that's helping us to achieve this vision. ⚙️

By joining the Birth Tree, you get your child's name on this year's plaque. Plus through the Birth Tree, $45 of every contribution goes straight back to PARC and PINES to help more children build confidence in the water. Your contribution will go directly to funding baby swim programs. It's a great gift to welcome a child into our ever-growing community in Frankston.🏊

You can purchase a place for a baby born this year on the birth tree by heading to our website in the link below. Or for older children, you can add them to the Family Garden. Find out more in the link in our bio.
