We’re Upgrading Your Entry Experience at PARC

We’re excited to let you know that new access gates will be installed at PARC in early March.

At PARC, we’re committed to continually improving our facility and the experience of every member and guest. This upgrade is fully funded through Frankston City Council’s Capital Works Program, and reflects the ongoing commitment between Council and Peninsula Leisure to continually invest in community infrastructure that supports health, safety and wellbeing.

What’s changing?

The new Sec-Pro gates – the same style currently in use at our Pilates Studio – are a significant improvement to how you arrive and enter the Centre. The new gates will reduce scan delays and improve response time between scanning in and the gate opening.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Instant response time
  • Improved reliability
  • Improved accessibility with wider gates

When is this happening?

Installation works will commence from Monday 2 March, with work scheduled after hours, so there will be minimal disruptions for members and guests. We anticipate the gates will be progressively brought online throughout the week and expect them to be fully commissioned and operational by Friday 13 March. During the installation period, any gates already fitted will remain in the open position, and our team will be on hand to assist.

What does this mean for me?

Full Access and Aquatic Access members: There will be no change to the way you access the Centre. Similar to our current access gates, the new gates are designed to operate on a one-to-one basis. Simply scan your wristband and the gate will open to allow entry, closing automatically behind you once you have walked through.

Group Exercise class check-in: Members attending a Group Exercise class will still scan in at our kiosks to check into their class as normal.

PARC Swim members: For PARC Swim families, there is a dedicated gate designed to make entry easy when you have little ones in tow, allowing a small family group through at the same time. This gate will be clearly labelled, and we encourage all PARC Swim members to use this access point for a smooth and easy arrival.

Thank you for your patience

We appreciate your patience as we complete this important upgrade. The new access gates are part of a broader commitment to improving reliability, accessibility and overall experience in Centre.

Once the new gates are live, you’ll notice the difference from your very first scan – a smoother, more reliable start to every visit at PARC.

Have you heard of Incidental Exercise? 🧹🚶‍♀️

Incidental exercise is physical activity that occurs naturally as part of your daily routine! It’s the small bursts of activity you accumulate throughout the day, such as carrying in the groceries, or playing with the kids, that helps you achieve your 30-20-2.

Some examples of Incidental Exercise are:
- Doing housework like vacuuming, mopping, or gardening
- Walking up stairs instead of taking elevator or escalator
- Parking further away from your destination to get your steps up
- Walking during lunch breaks, or having a standing meeting

Remember, all movement counts! 🌟

For more information about 30-20-2, or helpful resources and workouts to get you moving, head to our Digital Hub.

Help us ensure PARC is a safe venue for the whole community to enjoy 🏊

At PARC, we participate in the statewide Watch Around Water program. Watch Around Water is an education and public awareness-raising program that defines the minimum supervision requirements for children in a pool setting.

When visiting PARC, your child will be given a coloured wristband, based on their age. These wristbands help our lifeguards identify the level of supervison required for your child, and support a safe aquatic environment for everyone.
