Our popular Reformer Pilates class has now changed to Fit Reformer.
It’s the same class you know and love, with a combination of traditional Pilates as well as the strengthening and toning aspects of circuit training.
Be sure to keep an eye out on our timetable for the new class name.
New to Fit Reformer?
If you’ve not attended one of our Reformer Pilates class before, you will need to take our Intro Fit Reformer class.
Our instructors will go over in detail the equipment used, safety instructions as well as some of the more common exercises to get you started.
Frequently asked questions
What is Fit Reformer?
Fit Reformer is a combination of traditional Pilates with the strengthening and toning aspects of circuit training. Our dynamic, fast paced, high performance classes are performed on a spring resistance apparatus called a Reformer Bed.
How do I get started?
We strongly recommend you start with a Fit Reformer – Beginner class, even if you have done Reformer Pilates elsewhere. Fit Reformer uses a unique piece of equipment with many different components, so to ensure your safety and to get the most out of the class we require all members to complete the beginner class at least once before attending a regular Fit Reformer class.
During this class we will give a detailed induction on how to use the peak Pilates bed, the basic principals of the class and demonstrations and support with basic exercises. This will set you up for success in our Fit Reformer classes in future.
What do I need to bring?
All participants are required to bring a sweat towel, drink bottle and wear socks in class. We recommend socks that have grips on the sole for safety, these can be purchased from reception.
Our team will strictly enforce no socks, no sweat towel, no class.
Is Fit Reformer suitable if I’m injured or rehab?
Fit Reformer classes are strength and conditioning classes, not suitable as a rehabilitation from and injury.
If you are returning to exercise following an injury the suitability of this class will depend on your injury and advice from your health physician. Before attending a class we recommend you speaking to our Health & Fitness team by booking a PARC Start or Check in appointment.
I’m pregnant, can I still attend a Fit Reformer class?
If you are new to Reformer, unfortunately this class is not suitable for you at this time. We encourage you to book an appointment with our Health & fitness team in the gym so they can support and guide you throughout your pregnancy with suitable workout and class options to ensure you and bubs are safe.
If you are a regular Fit Reformer participant, we encourage you to let our instructor team know ASAP so they can guide you through different options. However, after 15 weeks we do not recommend you continue due to the dynamic form of training programmed in the group environment. We encourage you to book an appointment with our Health & fitness team in the gym so they can support and guide you throughout your pregnancy with suitable workout and class options to ensure you and bubs are safe.
Is there a minimum age to participate?
Yes you have to be over the age of 16 years old to attend a Fit Reformer class. Our classes are not suitable for growing bodies. Please see our Health & Fitness team to book an appointment to work out the best program and most suitable classes if your under 16 years old (parent/guardian must attend this appointment).
