PARC to reopen Friday 18 June

We are happy to announce that from Friday this week, 18 June, PARC will reopen our doors again!

Saying that, very strict restrictions will be in place so unfortunately, we will not be returning to the post-COVID ‘normal’ right away. Thank you for your patience as we finalised our initial reopen plan.

There is a lot to be considered with the latest restrictions, and we wanted to ensure we had the right services and processes in place and are keeping our community moving safely!

ABOUT OUR INITIAL REOPEN

CAPACITY RESTRICTIONS

The Victorian Acting Premier has announced an easing of COVID Safe restrictions for Metro Melbourne effective Friday 18 June, allowing indoor fitness and recreation facilities, such as PARC, to open with 50 people in the building.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR US AT PARC?

PARC Services – Main Pool, Warm Water Pool and Gym to open:

In-line with the imposed capacity restrictions, we have had to change our operations and services, and slightly adjusted our operating hours.

As a result, for this initial reopen, we will be opening:

  • The 25metre lap pool for lap swimming only,
  • The Warm Water Pool, and
  • The Gym Floor.
  • Toilets and change rooms are available.
  • All other services, including Group Exercise, Swimming Programs and Café, remain closed.

We know this may be limiting for many of you, but we are hopeful these latest restrictions will be reviewed again in a week’s time, so as soon as we can open up more services and capacity – we will!

PARC Access – Bookings only:

To ensure we adhere to the strict capacity limits, all lap swimming, warm water pool and gym floor sessions must be booked as a casual entry pay-as-you-go . Unfortunately, memberships will remain on hold for this initial reopen phase, and you will be required to book and pre-pay for each of your swims and gym workouts sessions online.

  • Bookings for our reopen tomorrow are now available on the website.
  • Future bookings will be available 3 days in advance.
  • Bookings will be a flat fee for everyone.
  • Sessions will run for 50 minutes to allow 10 minutes turnaround between sessions for cleaning time.
  • You must book online, no walk-ins will be permitted.
  • For details on how to book, and our pay-as-you-go prices, please visit: https://parcfrankston.com.au/reopen/
PARC Entry – Strict Conditions of Entry:

We will continue to enforce our Conditions of Entry, including mask wearing and QR Code Check Ins.

To see our full Conditions of entry and how we are keeping you safe, please visit: https://parcfrankston.com.au/reopen/

We’re so grateful for the awesome support of our PARC family through this lockdown and closure period, and really appreciate your understanding of the challenging situation that we are all facing.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please visit out Reopen Information page here, or email info@parcfrankston.com.au.

We can’t wait to welcome you all back!

    • Hi Matthew,

At the moment, we do not have the capacity to be able to reactivate memberships. As such, to keep access fair for all, we require everyone to pay to access. You will not be charged for your membership on top of your casual visit.

We are hopeful that there will be an announcement next week with further easing of restrictions, and as we can open more will hopefully be able to look at reactivating memberships.

      Many thanks,

      PARC

    • Hi Carole,

      Thanks for reaching out.

Unfortunately during this initial reopen phase, our group exercise classes will not be going ahead. In-line with the imposed capacity restrictions of only 50 people, we have had to change our operations and services, and slightly adjust our operating hours.

We are hopeful these latest restrictions will be reviewed again in a week’s time, so as soon as we can open up our group exercise timetable again, we will.

We will continue to update everyone about our available services as restrictions continue to ease.

      Thanks, PARC

  1. Hi I was wondering when group exercise classes will commence? And also I wondering how the partial reopening will effect people’s membership? In my case I paid 12 months up front and I don’t use the pool and generally just do group exercise classes. Will my membership, the duration, be extended?

    Regards Rodney

    • Hi Rodney,

      Thanks for reaching out.

Unfortunately during this initial reopen phase, our group exercise classes will not be going ahead. In-line with the imposed capacity restrictions of only 50 people, we have had to change our operations and services, and slightly adjust our operating hours.

We are hopeful these latest restrictions will be reviewed again in a week’s time, so as soon as we can open up our group exercise timetable again, we will.

Please note we are holding outdoor group exercise classes and you can also still access all of your favourite classes via http://www.parcyourway.com.au

All memberships are currently on hold and the duration of your membership will be extended.

      We hope this helps 🙂

      Kind regards,

      PARC

  2. I understand that you have limited capacity (which is super unfair) but I don’t understand why we can’t choose to reactivate our membership and just book in sessions when we want to go, if I was to book in and pay upfront for all the days I would normally go it would cost me $160 which is a huge amount of money, I am disappointed that we don’t have the choice to reactivate and pay fortnightly and just book in to go when we want to if there is space available

    • Hi Maddy,

Thanks for your feedback and we understand your frustrations.

With the very limiting re-opening restrictions we had to make some tough choices. 50 people at any one time is not much to work with, especially with a multi-purpose venue like ours that has pool and gym and many different groups to cater for. Sadly, we knew that were unlikely to be able to cater for everyone in this initial step. We have also returned to the casual entry fees that we used coming out of the last lockdown as the best way of returning all users at the same time. On the positive side, the acting premier has given us good reason to feel hopeful that a return to normal programs, services, opening hours and fees is only 1 more week away.

We hope you will hang in there with us. Thanks, the PARC Team.
