Birth and Family Tree Initiative

birth and family tree

Has your family celebrated the birth of a new child in 2018? Would you like your child’s name to be displayed in a special garden within the Frankston Community? Read on to find out more…

What is the Birth Tree Project?

The Birth Tree Project is supported by the Rotary of Frankston Peninsula 2.0 and it gives families the opportunity to honour this special milestone in a truly unique way. The Birth and Family Tree initiative invites parents to celebrate the birth of their new baby with the Frankston community.

Each year, in conjunction with Frankston City Council one tree is planted to commemorate the births of children in our community. Their names are placed on a plaque at the base of the Birth Tree. The Birth Tree will be planted at Montague Park (Kars St, Frankston), in a specially designed garden space dedicated to the Birth Tree Project. The Birth Tree & Family Garden Projects also supports the Birth Tree Little Library at Montague Park. For more information click here.

How do I register my child’s birth?

Registration for births in 2018 closes in January 2019. The cost is a $50 donation for one newborn which contributes directly to supporting the Frankston Hospital Special Care Nursery. There will be an annual Unveiling Ceremony held on the 17th of March 2019 for families and friends to celebrate the births in 2018. Children will be given a certificate and their very own tree to take home and plant.
