Goat Yoga in Frankston

Goat Yoga is coming to this year’s Pets’ Day Out, thanks to a partnership between Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre and the Elisabeth Murdoch Farm on Wheels.

The Goat Yoga sessions will combine calming basic yoga poses with wandering baby goats, within a fully-fenced area.

“It’s a little bit different and a whole lot of fun,” said PARC Health and Fitness Manager, Shannon Mounsey. “Animals can provide both physical and psychological health benefits to humans, and we know yoga also has countless benefits. So why not combine the two?”

Goat Yoga has recently emerged as a new – albeit unconventional – form of fitness that allows people to tap into the positive effects of bonding with animals.

“A big part of PARC’s work is making sure everyone has the opportunity to get active, so this is a unique, fun and relaxed way to get people outside and involved in some exercise,” said Shannon. “We look forward to seeing people laughing their way through the Goat Yoga sessions and leaving feeling happy and refreshed.”

The 20-minute sessions will start every half hour and are suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Goat Yoga marks the beginning of PARC’s free community yoga and the PARC Paws Walk on the group exercise timetable.

Pets’ Day Out is on Sunday 14 October 2018, 10am–3pm at Ballam Park in Frankston.

Pets’ Day Out is a free event organised by Frankston City Council.

Bright bathers = safer swimmers 🌈🩳

Our PARC Swim team demonstrate that when it comes to swimwear for little ones, the right colour can matter!

🟡 Bright colours like neon orange, pink, yellow or lime green can be easier to spot.
🔵 While some dark or pale colours and may disappear in busy pools or in open water.

As we enter the height of Summer, and more of us in and around water, help your children stand out for all the right reasons!

Go bright, go bold, and stay safer around water!
