Peninsula Leisure honoured at Aquatics & Recreation Victoria Awards

Wow wee! We are so honoured and excited to share the news that we have won two major accolades at the prestigious Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV) 2021 Awards.

PARC has cemented its reputation as the region’s premier aquatic and fitness facility taking home top honours with the Health Club of the Year Award, while our incredible Pru Drago was recognised for her stellar work as the Personal Trainer of the Year.

The ARV Industry Awards recognise and reward outstanding achievement and commitment to the Aquatics and Recreation sector.

Why we were awarded Health Club of the Year

Our amazing team! At PARC we are 100% focused on supporting our members and our community in their health and wellbeing goals. We tailor our support, offering personalised programs and services to ensure that whatever “fit” or “healthy” looks like to you, we are there to support you.

Other things that set us us apart and make us the state’s Best Health Club include:

  • Providing complementary start up appointments and check ins to help you on your health journey.
  • Despite ongoing lockdowns, the hard work of the team continued to see high member satisfaction results (8.19/10).
  • We launched a Small Group Training membership, allowing people to work our with friends, connect with like-minded individuals, and hold each other accountable.

The 2021 Awards were especially significant, as they represented the work we could do throughout lockdowns and enforced COVID restrictions. PARC also won the Health Club of the Year Award in 2019 and we have since adapted and improved our offering by including more opportunities to stay active, including the launch of PARC Your Way – a digital exercise platform which the community can access for free via www.parcyourway.com.au, and online and outdoor personal training.

Congrats Pru – Personal Trainer of the Year

We also want to acknowledge and congratulate the amazing Pru Drago, Victoria’s Personal Trainer of the Year!

Pru has been a member of the PARC family since August 2014, working across several departments, using her skills as a caring, knowledgeable and welcoming fitness professional.

A key driver of PARC’s ever-popular 8 Week Challenge and Small Group Personal Training membership, she pivoted during to COVID to offer her excellent personal training programs online, in the centre and outdoors.

“Wow, I really can’t believe it. What an honour! In what was a really challenging year for us all to be recognised and take out these awards is so incredible. I feel extremely lucky to be a part of our incredible team at Peninsula Leisure. Thank you all for making PARC what it is – the BEST of the best! We did it!”

Thank you

We would like to take this opportunity to thank YOU, our amazing Peninsula Leisure and PARC community, for helping us take home this accolade. We love supporting our members and guests to be happy, healthy and feel great, and to be recognised amongst our peers as doing it the BEST in the state is a true honour. Thank you.

Help us ensure PARC is a safe venue for the whole community to enjoy 🏊

At PARC, we participate in the statewide Watch Around Water program. Watch Around Water is an education and public awareness-raising program that defines the minimum supervision requirements for children in a pool setting.

When visiting PARC, your child will be given a coloured wristband, based on their age. These wristbands help our lifeguards identify the level of supervison required for your child, and support a safe aquatic environment for everyone.

Did you know that our vision is that 'Every Child In Frankston Can Swim'? 🌳👶

The Rotary Peninsula 2.0's Birth Tree is one way that's helping us to achieve this vision.

By joining this year’s Birth Tree, you will receive a timeless tribute of your loved one in the form of a tree and plaque. Equally importantly, $45 of every contribution goes straight back to the community to help more children build confidence in the water, with free infant swimming lessons through the Can Swim initiative. 🏊
