Quiet Hour Swims at PINES – Saturdays, 10am-11am.

We are excited to announce that our Quiet Hour Swims at our PINES pool will be ongoing, with us hosting a Quiet Hour every Saturday from 10am to 11am.

During “Quiet Hour” Swim hour, we will provide a low-stimulation aquatic environment.

Several key measures will be implemented to ensure a peaceful and accommodating experience at the pool, including:
– We will not be playing music or making unnecessary announcements over the speaker system.
– We will be speaking to patrons as they enter the facility to ensure they are aware of the Quiet Hour Swim, and to ask them to be mindful of noise levels.
– We will be managing Centre bookings of user groups in an effort to manage entrances during Quiet Hour Swims.
– As always, our PINES team will be ready to support all patrons that attend the Centre during Quiet Hour Swims.

The Centre will remain open to the public and everyone is welcome, but we ask if you are attending during that time slot that you please be mindful of noise levels. We want to provide a calm and sensory friendly environment and appreciate everyone’s support and cooperation in achieving this.

We’d love to hear your feedback

Quite Hour Swims is a pilot program, and we would appreciate any feedback from our community to ensure we are providing a service that meets the needs of our community. We encourage you to share your experiences and suggestions to help shape and refine the sensory-friendly initiative with staff, or via our website form here.

Have you heard of Incidental Exercise? 🧹🚶‍♀️

Incidental exercise is physical activity that occurs naturally as part of your daily routine! It’s the small bursts of activity you accumulate throughout the day, such as carrying in the groceries, or playing with the kids, that helps you achieve your 30-20-2.

Some examples of Incidental Exercise are:
- Doing housework like vacuuming, mopping, or gardening
- Walking up stairs instead of taking elevator or escalator
- Parking further away from your destination to get your steps up
- Walking during lunch breaks, or having a standing meeting

Remember, all movement counts! 🌟

For more information about 30-20-2, or helpful resources and workouts to get you moving, head to our Digital Hub.

Help us ensure PARC is a safe venue for the whole community to enjoy 🏊

At PARC, we participate in the statewide Watch Around Water program. Watch Around Water is an education and public awareness-raising program that defines the minimum supervision requirements for children in a pool setting.

When visiting PARC, your child will be given a coloured wristband, based on their age. These wristbands help our lifeguards identify the level of supervison required for your child, and support a safe aquatic environment for everyone.

Did you know that our vision is that 'Every Child In Frankston Can Swim'? 🌳👶

The Rotary Peninsula 2.0's Birth Tree is one way that's helping us to achieve this vision.

By joining this year’s Birth Tree, you will receive a timeless tribute of your loved one in the form of a tree and plaque. Equally importantly, $45 of every contribution goes straight back to the community to help more children build confidence in the water, with free infant swimming lessons through the Can Swim initiative. 🏊

You can purchase a place for a baby born this year on the Birth Tree here: https://events.humanitix.com/parc-2026-birth-tree-and-family-garden
