Move more in 2026 with 30-20-2

Welcome to 2026!

This year, we want to get our community moving more, in a way that works for them.

In our busy lives, finding time to exercise can be a challenge. Our days are already packed with to-do lists and commitments, and adding one more “to-do” can seem impossible. Add to that all the online noise telling us what we should, or shouldn’t do, finding the right kind of movement for you might feel overwhelming.

The thing is, being active isn’t about just about fitness and giving 100% all the time, it’s about living well consistently, and finding the gentle balance that works for you.

So, where do I start?
That’s where we come in; because on your wellness journey, you shouldn’t have to do it alone.  To support you in moving more, we have come up with a simple guide to help you get started.

We are excited to introduce 30-20-2.
Our 30‑20‑2 formula is based on the Australian National Physical Activity Guidelines. Simply put, they are a guide on how much movement you need each day or each week to feel your best. It’s an easy way to make movement achievable, flexible, and part of everyday life.

Here’s what it means.

Adults in Australia should aim for:

30 mins moderate activity daily
Moderate activity means you’re moving, breathing comfortably, and able to speak in full sentences. Think swimming, a brisk walk, or joining a PARC class.

OR

20 mins vigorous activity daily
Vigorous activity gets your heart pumping—you’re breathing hard and speaking in short bursts. Try a cycle class, HIIT session, or a gym workout.

AND

2 strength sessions per week
Build strength with resistance training. Our expert trainers can create a personalised plan for you, or you can try a Reformer Pilates class.

Throughout 2026, we’ll support you to meet your 30-20-2 through the right mix of classes, programs, workouts, and services tailored to your goals and lifestyle. You’ll also see new blogs, events, videos and resources designed to help you keep moving and stay motivated.

Together, we can achieve your goals, your way. Become a member today.

Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! 💚💛

This week, our PARC Swim team have organised some Commonwealth Games themed fun, to celebrate our Aussie athletes, who are absolutely dominating this year! 🥇

To celebrate, our PARC Swim teachers will include a small segment in this week’s lessons, using our snakes and ladders game, aligning a swimming activity with a participating sporting event 🏊🏃

Make sure to check out our activity table, and show support for Australia, or any other participating country by wearing their colours to your lesson this week!
Have you heard of Habit Stacking? 🤔

It's a great way to add movement into your day by pairing small exercises with habits you already do - helping you be active and achieve 30-20-2, even when life is busy!

You can incorporate simple exercises into your daily task, such as:
- Squats while the kettle boils - turn waiting time into movement time.
- Calf raises while brushing your teeth - two minutes of strength, twice a day.
- Lunges down the hallway - every trip becomes a mini workout.
- Marching on the spot while folding laundry- complete some of your vigorous or moderate exercise every trip.
- Glute squeezes while sitting at your desk - perfect for busy workdays.

Remember, all movement counts 🙌
