Important Notice: Rolling tiling replacement works – March to July 2025

Updated: Thursday 5 June. This post will be updated regularly as we roll through the upgrades across the Centre.

Keeping PARC in top condition

At PARC, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards for our members and guests.

Specialised facilities, like PARC, require regular upgrades to ensure the life of the building remains fit-for-purpose and safe for the community. Now 10 years old, the building has seen incredible usage and we are now embarking on an important tile replacement project across all changerooms, and some pool areas, from March to July 2025.

What work is being done?

To maintain safety, aesthetics and provide overall improvement across PARC, we will be removing and replacing the existing tiles with high-quality, durable alternatives in all changerooms, and the 50m pool bulk heads. Some space will see a full replacement, others we are replacing grouting. These upgrades will enhance the look and feel of our changerooms while ensuring they remain safe and slip resistant.

When is the scheduled maintenance period?

The works will be conducted in stages from March to July 2025, with planning for minimal disruption to our members and guests.

The first phase will begin upstairs, with the following impacts:

Closures

  • Warm Water Pool Changeroom – closed  Thursday 29 May – Wednesday 11 June
  • Downstairs Main Female Changeroom – closed Tuesday 2 June – Wednesday 2 July
  • Future closures: There will be further closures and impacts running through to July. Check back here regularly.

What does this mean for me?

Downstairs Female Changeroom Closure: will be closed from Tuesday 10 June to Wednesday 2 July. To accommodate our female patrons, over this period, the upstairs male changerooms will be temporarily designated as a female changeroom.

From 10 June – 2 July:
Female patrons – Please use either upstairs changerooms for the period.
Male patrons – Please use the downstairs main male changeroom, as normal.

I’m a Full Access Member: The upstairs female changeroom will be open as usual, with the male upstairs changeroom temporarily reassigned to a female changeroom to support the overflow of female patrons. Male members, please use the Main Male Changeroom located downstairs.

I’m an Aquatic Access Member: Both the upstairs changeroom facilities will be available for female Aquatic Access members, which you can access via the stairs at reception or elevator. When possible, please towel dry on pool deck before making your way to the changerooms upstairs. The Female Group Change Rooms located downstairs will also be available outside of school hours, before 9am and after 3pm. The Group Change Room have one shower and one toilet. For male patrons, the downstairs Male Changerooms are back open as normal.

I’m a PARC Swim Member: We understand the closure of the Main Downstairs Female Changerooms will have an impact on our PARC Swim families. To support our PARC Swim members, we have the following options available.

For female patrons;
Downstairs:
– The communal showers and individual cubicle change rooms in the Family Change Area will be open as normal. For visits that just require a quick rinse off and change, this space is a convenient option for families.
– The Female Group Change room will be available outside of school hours before 9am and after 3pm. The Group Change Room have one shower and one toilet.
Upstairs: Both Upstairs Female Changeroom facilities will be available for female patrons, including Mums with children. You can access the facilities via the stairs at reception or elevator.

For male patrons; the downstairs Male Changerooms are now back open as normal.

Thanks for your patience

We understand these temporary, but essential, closures may at times be inconvenient, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve your experience.

For any questions, please speak to a member of our team or email us at member.experience@peninsulaleisure.com.au.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to unveiling the refreshed changerooms soon.
