PARC staff success at 2018 ARV Awards

ARV awards

The annual ARV (Aquatics Recreation Victoria) awards took place on the 15th of June 2018. These awards recognise and award the incredible efforts of Peninsula Leisure staff over the past 12 months.

A total of five individual nominations across five different teams were shortlisted for this year’s awards ceremony. Along with the individual nominations the Pines Forest Aquatic Centre was shortlisted and awarded the Seasonal Facility Management Award for 2018.

The cohesive, hard-working efforts of the entire team, across both facilities should be proudly celebrated. With the addition of the 2018 awards, the total award tally for Peninsula Leisure since opening in 2014 is now eight! These span across seven different categories, demonstrating the diverse range of skills that are present at a high standard within Peninsula Leisure.

The individual nominations were:

  • Melanie Hartskeerl – Membership Sales
  • Jayden Cox – Personal Trainer
  • Pru Drago – Group Exercise
  • Sue Constable – Customer Service
  • Tabitha Cauchy – Swim Teacher

Each nominee went through an extensive assessment process to qualify as a prospective winner in their designated category, with assessments being undertaken by internal and external staff.

Tabitha Cauchy is to be congratulated for being awarded the Swim Teacher of the Year. This is an amazing achievement for an outstanding, dedicated teacher who has now worked at PARC for 4 years.

The efforts of all staff involved in the management and operation of Pines during the summer season are to be congratulated, with the facility being awarded the Seasonal Facility Management Award for 2018. Peninsula Leisure commenced operations of Pines Forest Aquatic Centre in October 2015.

The re-development of the facility continues to see attendance grow over the summer period, year after year. The establishment of community engagement initiatives have helped encourage attendance growth.

The initiatives run by Peninsula Leisure staff demonstrate one example of Peninsula Leisure’s excellent contribution to the local community, aligning with the organisations mission to inspire all members of the community to engage in physical activity. Being awarded with the Facility Management Award recognises the efforts undertaken by all staff, giving everyone in the community an opportunity to be active. All staff involved should be proud of the achieved success.

The Rotary Peninsula 2.0's Birth Tree is one way that's helping us to achieve this vision. ⚙️

By joining the Birth Tree, you get your child's name on this year's plaque. Plus through the Birth Tree, $45 of every contribution goes straight back to PARC and PINES to help more children build confidence in the water. Your contribution will go directly to funding baby swim programs. It's a great gift to welcome a child into our ever-growing community in Frankston.🏊

You can purchase a place for a baby born this year on the birth tree by heading to our website in the link below. Or for older children, you can add them to the Family Garden. Find out more in the link in our bio.
