Personal training works out for Pru!

Personal trainer Pru Drago is pumped after being recognised for her stellar efforts.

The Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre (PARC) employee can’t wipe the smile off her face after being crowned the Leader Community News best personal trainer of the southeast.

“I have been feeling so loved. It’s such a happy and positive moment,” she said.

Pru has kept her clients fit and healthy during lockdown thanks to popular online sessions via both PARC Your Way and Zoom.

PARC Your Way can be accessed via PARC’s website and includes numerous free videos covering fitness, nutrition, yoga and more to help people reach their goals.

Pru said the online platforms had been critical during lockdown to retain connections and keep up motivation.

She enjoys seeing people develop a passion for health and achieve their fitness targets.

“It’s having a goal, working towards the goal and seeing people’s love of grow. It’s really exciting to see people fall in love with exercise.”

Peninsula Leisure CEO, Tim Gledhill, praised Pru for receiving the award, adding: “We’re so proud of her achievements, she really deserves this recognition from her clients.

“Pru is a fantastic personal trainer and well-loved within the PARC community. I’ve been a client of hers for years and can vouch for her incredible ability to creative diverse and tailored sessions that really push you while still having fun.”

Have you heard of Habit Stacking? 🤔

It's a great way to add movement into your day by pairing small exercises with habits you already do - helping you be active and achieve 30-20-2, even when life is busy!

You can incorporate simple exercises into your daily task, such as:
- Squats while the kettle boils - turn waiting time into movement time.
- Calf raises while brushing your teeth - two minutes of strength, twice a day.
- Lunges down the hallway - every trip becomes a mini workout.
- Marching on the spot while folding laundry- complete some of your vigorous or moderate exercise every trip.
- Glute squeezes while sitting at your desk - perfect for busy workdays.

Remember, all movement counts 🙌
