Peninsula Leisure Swim Programs: What is the difference between PARC Swim, VICSWIM & Can Swim?

Swimming is an essential life skill. But did you know there are different types of swim programs designed to meet different needs? At PARC and Pines, we offer a range of programs to suit all ages, abilities, and goals.

Here’s a breakdown of three trusted options:

PARC Swim – Ongoing Lessons for long term progression

PARC Swim is our year-round swimming lesson membership, perfect for children who want to develop their swimming skills over time.

  • Structure: Weekly lessons, designed to support long-term progression.
  • Benefits: Consistent skill development, personalised guidance, and a clear learning pathway.
  • Extras: PARC Swim is an ongoing membership which provides year round,unlimited access to PARC and Pines pools all year round, so your child can practice outside of their swimming lessons – and have fun in the water! PARC Swim also offers no debit periods, make up lessons if you are unwell or away, and discounts for multiple children enrolled.
  • Timing: All year round, enrol when it suits you.
  • Ideal for: Families looking for structured, ongoing swim lessons and skill improvement over time. PARC Swim offers classes 7 days per week, and is open for infants aged 6 months old to adults. 

VICSWIM – Intensive Summer Holiday Program

VICSWIM is a summer intensive program, perfect for kids looking for a fun, focused boost in swimming over January.

  • Structure: One-week intensive program with 5 x 30-minute lessons, same time each day.
  • Benefits: Low-cost, intensive learning to improve swimming skills and water safety quickly.
  • Timing: Runs over summer holidays at PARC and Pines.
  • Ideal for: Children aged 4–12 who want a short, concentrated program to improve their swimming during the holidays.

Can Swim – Fully Funded Water Safety Program

Can Swim is a one off program focusing on the essential water safety awareness and skills to keep the Frankston community safer around the water. 

  • Structure: Fully funded programs teaching minimum vital skills to prevent drowning.
  • Benefits: Ensures participants learn the basics of water safety and survival in the water.
  • Timing: Public programs are running in January 2026, with expressions of interest open in November 2025.
  • Ideal for: Families looking for essential water safety awareness and lifesaving skills at no cost, ensuring everyone can be safe in and around water.

Which program is right for your child?

  • Long-term skill development & year-round access, weekly membership free: PARC Swim
  • Holiday intensive, low-cost skill boost, $43 for the week: VICSWIM
  • Essential water safety to prevent drownings, for free: Can Swim

No matter your child’s age or ability, there’s a program to keep them safe, confident, and having fun in the water!

It's Aquatic Awareness Week!

This week, our PARC Swim members have been learning lifesaving, water safety skills to continue building their confidence in and around water. Here's a snippet of some of the things they have been learning about this week:

Annual Studio Floor Upgrade 🚧

Studios 1 and 2 will be closed over the King's Birthday long weekend, from Friday 5 June – Monday 8 June while we upgrade and resurface the floors. 

Classes in both the Cycle Studio and Reformer Studio will run as normal, as well as our gym floor classes. You can also check out PARC Plus, our on-demand platform, or our 30-20-2 Digital Hub, for some home workout inspiration.

Group Exercise – Studio 1 & 2 will be closed for maintenance works on Monday 8 June. You can view the updated class timetable and details on the Customer Portal. 

Group Exercise:
