Embracing this year’s IWD theme – Count Her In: Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is ‘Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress’. This incudes elevating women and girl’s participation and achievement in sport. International Women’s Day is one day, but this is something that we celebrate every day. We are committed to not just inspiring women but also breaking down the barriers that prevent them from being active.

A few of the things we do at Peninsula Leisure to support women participation are:

  • We have female leaders in the business, including our CEO and members of our board.
  • We have bespoke programs for young mums to get them into activity and the pool.
  • We support Life Saving Victoria’s Pink Patrol, which supports females in the Aquatic Industry.
  • We have diversity offers.
  • We offer ‘Girls Only’ skate lessons at Frankston Skate Park.
  • We participate and support Council run initiatives that see females encouraged to participate.

As we embrace this year’s International Women’s Day theme, Peninsula Leisure reaffirm our commitment to empowering women and girls in sports and physical activities. We remain dedicated to breaking down barriers and ensuring that every woman and girl has the opportunity to thrive and be active.
