Member Spotlight – Anca

Meet Anca, a dedicated member of PARC and PARC Fit Run club passionate.

Anca is a passionate runner with the ambitious goal of completing all 7 major world marathons. Anca has been a member at PARC for 10 years and when she isn’t conquering the world, she promotes health and wellbeing as the founder of her own supplement brand, and believes it’s important to be proactive with your health.

We sat down with Anca and asked her to share her thoughts on her running journey and what motivates her.

  1. How long have you been a PARC member

I’ve been a member of the PARC family for 10 years.

  1. How did you get into running

I joined an info session at PARC about running and it inspired me to give it a try. The PARC Fit running group has been fantastic. They’re full of encouragement, practical tips and it’s an inclusive atmosphere. I started by running short distances once or twice a week, and since last year I have discovered a real love for running. I got more serious about it and completed my first marathon in October last year and have never looked back.

  1. What keeps you motivated

In the tough moments, I remind myself I’ve been through tougher battles in life and each time, I’ve risen stronger. I believe it’s important to be proactive with your health so besides running I like to shake things up with some of my favourite classes like GRIT, Cycle, Pilates and Core. This helps keep my training fresh and avoid overuse injuries.

  1. What is your next challenge

I’ve set myself the goal of completing all 7 world major marathons in 2 years. I have already completed London and Sydney, and my eyes are set on my next major marathon. It’s a bold move for sure but no one else truly knows what I’m capable of except me.

Well done Anca on all your hard work and we wish you well for your next marathon

Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! 💚💛

This week, our PARC Swim team have organised some Commonwealth Games themed fun, to celebrate our Aussie athletes, who are absolutely dominating this year! 🥇

To celebrate, our PARC Swim teachers will include a small segment in this week’s lessons, using our snakes and ladders game, aligning a swimming activity with a participating sporting event 🏊🏃

Make sure to check out our activity table, and show support for Australia, or any other participating country by wearing their colours to your lesson this week!
Have you heard of Habit Stacking? 🤔

It's a great way to add movement into your day by pairing small exercises with habits you already do - helping you be active and achieve 30-20-2, even when life is busy!

You can incorporate simple exercises into your daily task, such as:
- Squats while the kettle boils - turn waiting time into movement time.
- Calf raises while brushing your teeth - two minutes of strength, twice a day.
- Lunges down the hallway - every trip becomes a mini workout.
- Marching on the spot while folding laundry- complete some of your vigorous or moderate exercise every trip.
- Glute squeezes while sitting at your desk - perfect for busy workdays.

Remember, all movement counts 🙌

For more information about 30-20-2, or helpful resources and workouts to get you moving, head to our Digital Hub.
