Help us keep everyone safe and prevent the spread of crypto

There has been an increase in the number of cryptosporidiosis (crypto/diarrhea) cases in Victoria over the recent months. Some cases have become infected after using public swimming pools and public health investigations have found people are attending pools while they are infectious.

In order to keep our members and patrons safe, we ask that you help prevent the spread of crypto with the following steps:

  • Do not swim if you have diarrhoea.
  • Do not swim if you have had cryptosporidiosis in the past 14 days. If you have been diagnosed with crypto infection, you must not swim until 14 days have passed from the time your symptoms ended.
  • Always shower and wash thoroughly with soap before you swim.
  • Always wash your hands with soap after going to the toilet or changing a nappy.
  • Change nappies in nappy change areas only.
  • Avoid swallowing pool water.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep everyone safe.

Learn to Save a Life: Restart a Heart Day at PARC ❤️

Join us on Saturday, October 12th, for Restart a Heart Day, a vital community event that raises awareness about cardiac arrest and empowers people with lifesaving CPR skills. Hosted by Monash University, this event will bring together children, adults, and healthcare professionals to help build a safer, more prepared community.

Did you know that only 1 in 10 people survive a cardiac arrest? Most cardiac arrests happen in the home, so learning how to act fast could save the life of someone you love. Restart a Heart day will teach you how to respond in just three simple steps: CALL, PUSH, SHOCK.

Drop by PARC on Saturday morning between 9am – 11am to learn from paramedics and paramedic students, who will be on hand to guide you through these critical steps and boost your confidence in delivering CPR. Every minute counts when restarting a heart – let’s work together to improve survival rates!
