30-20-2, Choose what you want to do

At Peninsula Leisure, we are on a mission to get more of Frankston moving, more of the time!

We know only 49% of Frankston locals are currently meeting the National Physical Activity Guidelines. We’re on a mission to change that. Our goal is simple:
Make Frankston the healthiest community in Victoria.

30-20-2 is your weekly activity formula for better health.

We want to make being active more fun, social, accessible and enjoyable for everyone, no matter your age, ability or starting point. We’re here to help you!

Let’s make regular activity part of everyday life

You don’t need to overhaul your life to be healthier. Small steps add up and everyday movement counts. With 30-20-2, you can choose what works for you.

What is 30‑20‑2?

30-20-2 is a formula to help you achieve your physical activity goals. The National Physical Activity Guidelines exist to help Australians achieve better physical health, mental health and wellbeing. They can feel complicated, so we’ve made them easier to understand with our simple formulaIt is recommended that Australian adults achieve:

30 minutes of moderate activity daily
Moderate activity means you’re moving, breathing comfortably, and able to speak in full sentences.

OR

20 minutes of vigorous activity daily
Vigorous activity gets your heart pumping – you’re breathing hard and speaking in short bursts.

AND

2 days per week incorporating muscle strengthening activities
These are activities which makes your muscles work harder, like lifting, pushing, or pulling any type of resistance.

The best part? You get to choose what works for you.
Walk your kids to school, get out in the garden, play sport, dance in your lounge room, join a class, cycle, clean the house, or head out for a jog.

Movement is movement, and every bit counts.

30‑20‑2 is your flexible, achievable pathway to feeling better physically and mentally, every day.

How we’re helping the community to be more active, move often

To support the Frankston community in being active, we’ve developed a digital hub filled with practical tools to help you understand 30‑20‑2 and build more movement into your daily life. A resource for locals, from your local experts at PARC and Peninsula Leisure.

We’ve made it simple to take the first step with our  “Getting Started” hub

If you’re new to exercise or returning after a break, this section is for you.
The Peninsula Leisure and PARC team have created simple resources that explain the basics, from what different exercise intensities feel like, to small, everyday ways you can move more. You’ll even find helpful trackers and guides you can download and use at home.

Make activity more accessible with workouts you can do anywhere

On the Activities tab, you’ll find easy workouts for moderate exercise, vigorous movement and strength sessions. These workouts are suitable for all fitness levels and abilities and can be done anywhere.

Explore dozens of local options to get you active in the community

Movement is more fun when you do it with friends, and Frankston is full of amazing places to get active – many of them completely free.

Our Connect tab highlights local clubs, social groups, walking trails, parks, community centres and outdoor exercise equipment. If you want to explore, meet new people, or find an activity you genuinely enjoy, this is where you’ll start.

Our Peninsula Leisure and PARC team are here to support the whole Frankston community — for every age, every ability, every starting point. With the right tools and a bit of encouragement, we can all move more, feel better, and create a healthier, more connected community.

Explore the new 30‑20‑2 Digital Hub and start your movement journey today.
