Important Closure Notice: Main Pool Hall Closure – from Thursday 31 July, back open Monday 18 August
Dear PARC Members and Users,
Please be informed that the entire Main Pool Hall will be closed from Thursday 31 July to Monday 18 August to allow for essential boiler replacement works. During this period, there will also be no hot water to the showers Centre-wide.
One of the most important systems in our facility is the boiler system, which heats our pools and showers. Unfortunately, we recently experienced an unexpected fault that impacted heating water. As a result, we’re fast-tracking a major replacement to this critical system to restore full comfort and ensure long-term reliability.
To safely complete these works, the entire Main Pool Hall will be closed from Thursday 31 July, reopening on Monday 18 August.
Why is this work necessary now?
Following recent challenges with our existing boiler system this week – which led to cooler pool temperatures and cold showers – we are bringing forward a major boiler replacement. This essential work needed to be done at some point in the near future, but the recent issues have made it necessary to bring the timeline forward. It is very unfortunate that this has fallen on the back of a planned closure period.
The new boiler system has been selected for its reliability, energy efficiency, and rapid installation timeframe. Once operational, it will provide greater consistency in water temperature across our pools and showers.
When is the closure period?
The entire Main Pool Hall will be closed from Thursday 31 July, reopening Monday 18 August.
During this time, cold showers only will be available.
What services are impacted?
CLOSED: During this time, the main hall aquatic space, including the 50m pool, Learn to Swim pool, and splash park, and waterslides will be closed. The Sauna is also closed for tiling upgrades, as planned.
IMPACTED: It is important to note, that during this time, boilers will be turned off and therefore there will be no warm water flowing through to the shower. Cold showers only will be available.
OPEN: Our Warm Water Pool, Café, health and wellness facilities, and group exercise classes will remain available.
What this means for me?
- I’m a Full Access Member
- As normal, you have access to all your usual Group Exercise classes and the gym.
- You also have access to the Warm Water Pool Hall, including the Spa and Steam Room.
- Cold showers only will be available.

- I’m an Aquatic Access Member
- As normal, you have access to the Warm Water Pool Hall, including the Spa and Steam Room.

Important Centre Update: Pool Temperature & Shower Access
We are pleased to advise that our 50m pool is back open, and our tiling upgrade in this area is now complete!
While we’re thrilled to have our main pool looking great and safely back in action, we want to keep you informed about impacts across PARC programs and services.
We’ve unfortunately encountered an unexpected and unrelated issue with our boiler system. This is impacting two key areas, seeing:
- Cooler water temperatures in both our 50m and Learn to Swim pools, and
- No hot water available in the Centre’s showers.
Here’s everything you need to know:
50m Pool – Open (but a little cooler!)
- Great news – our 50m pool is open for lap swimming and recreation!
- Due to the boiler issue, the water is cooler than usual, sitting around 25°C. While it’s perfectly safe to swim, it might feel a little fresh.
- All Aqua Group Exercise classes will remain in the Warm Water Pool, for now.
Cold Showers – Centre-wide
- Due to the same boiler issue, there is no hot water to any showers across the Centre.
- Showers will remain cold water only until at least end of day Friday 1 August. We’ll provide updates as soon as this changes.
Learn to Swim (LTS) Pool & PARC Swim Program
- The LTS Pool is open for recreational use.
- Afternoon PARC Swim classes in the LTS pool will continue as normal.
- Morning classes in the LTS pool and 50m pool are cancelled until the end of the week due to the lower than usual water temperature.
- We’ll keep a close eye on the temperature and provide a programming update on Friday for the weekend classes.
- Please check your Customer Portal and/or email in the first instance if you are unsure as to whether your class has been impacted this week.
Aquatic Recreation
- Waterslides: Operating as normal all week
- Aquatic Playground: Closed until at least end of day Friday 1 August.
- User Groups & Bookings: We’re reaching out directly to all user groups with the latest info on water temperature and shower access. Groups will have the option to proceed with bookings or reschedule.

Updated 27 July
50m Pool reopening Monday 28 July. Water will be cooler than usual.
We are very pleased to confirm that our 50m pool will reopen, as planned, on Monday 28 July from 5.00am.
Thank you for your patience over the past four weeks while we carried out essential tile replacement works in our main pool. We’re pleased to share that the project has been completed on schedule, and the 50m pool bulkheads are now looking fantastic – safer, upgraded, and more enjoyable for all our members and guests.
However, as previously shared below, we’ve experienced an unexpected and separate issue with our boiler system, which means the water won’t be at its usual warm temperature just yet. While it is safe to swim, it will feel noticeably cooler than normal.
What does this mean for me?
- The 50m pool is open from Monday, 28 July, for lap swimming and recreational use.
- The water is a few degrees cooler than usual, and may not suit all swimmers.
- Programming in the 50m pool is on hold, including: PARC Swim lessons (for classes scheduled in the 50m pool on Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 July) and Aqua Group Ex classes (these will continue in the Warm Water Pool).
We’re working hard to bring the water temperature back to normal, and are aiming to resume usual programming from Wednesday 30 July. We will keep you updated here, and on socials as the temp rises!
Thank you again for your understanding and continued support over the past 4 weeks while we completed these important tiling works, the improvements are significant and we are really excited to welcome you all back to lap swimming at PARC.
With thanks, Your PARC Team

Update: Dated 25 July
50m Pool Reopening Update – Water temperature cooler than usual
As you know, the 50m pool has been closed for the past four weeks for essential tile replacement works. These works are now complete, which is great news, and they look and feel sensational.
However, we’ve unfortunately encountered an unexpected and unrelated issue with our boiler system. This is delaying our ability to bring the pool water back up to ideal temperature in time for the planned reopening on Monday 28 July.
Our Facilities Team is working closely with specialist contractors to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible.
What does this mean for me?
We’re still aiming to reopen the 50m pool on Monday for lap swimming and recreational use, but please be aware that we expect the water will be a few degrees cooler than usual.
To ensure everyone’s comfort and safety, we’ve made the decision to pause all programming in the 50m pool for the time being. This includes:
- PARC Swim lessons (classes on Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th in the 50m pool only)
- Aqua Group Ex classes (these will remain in the Warm Water Pool)
We’re hopeful that the temperature will warm up for mid-week, and that usual programming can resume from Wednesday 30 July.
Thank you for your continued patience and support. We’ll provide updates here and on our social channels as soon as we know more.

What services are impacted?
• CLOSED: Over the period, only the 50m pool will be closed.
• IMPACTED: Cafe closing at 4pm. For the period of the pool closure the Cafe will be closing at 4pm. If you normally grab a post workout or lesson snack, please make other arrangements.
• OPEN: All other aquatic facilities will remain open, including the Learn to Swim Pool, Warm Water Pool Hall, Waterslides and Aquatic Playground. Importantly, this means that PARC Swim lessons in the 50m pool will not run.
